Aqoir

How Aqoir reads your hydration.

A fingertip, a beam of light, and models trained on more than a million data points.

01The sensor

Light reads what thirst can’t.

Rest a fingertip on the cap. Light at several wavelengths passes into your skin, and the sensor measures how much returns with every heartbeat. That signal, your pulse wave, shifts with the water in your blood and tissue.

02The models

From pulse wave to Hydration Index.

Each reading moves through three steps, from the cap to your phone, in seconds.

  1. 1 · Collect

    The cap listens

The sensor records your pulse wave and sends it to the Aqoir app.

  2. 2 · Analyze

    The models read it

Our models pick out the features of the waveform that track hydration, learned from more than a million data points.

  3. 3 · Predict

    You get a score

Your Hydration Index, from 1 to 4, appears in the app, along with what to do next.

03Ground truth

Tested against the lab standard.

Every model is checked against urine specific gravity (USG), a clinical measure of hydration. Under Protocol v7, volunteers move from dehydrated to rehydrated across a series of sessions, so the models learn the full range.

04Accuracy

Every model, closer to the truth.

We measure each generation of our models against lab results. Each one agrees with the lab more closely than the one before.

05Your normal

Built around you.

Aqoir learns what normal hydration looks like for you. It accounts for your age, the heat, humidity and altitude around you, and how active you’ve been, then combines all of that with your personal reading.

+ Your reading→ when to drink, and how much

The Aqoir app nudges you when it’s time to drink and how much, so you don’t have to think about it.

06Beyond hydration

One touch. More than hydration.

The same pulse wave carries other signals. From the same touch, Aqoir also reports your blood pressure, heart rate and blood oxygen.
